Siemens MRI scan system, Legacy Chillers has MRI chiller
cooling solutions available for GE and Siemens. Our
pre-engineered MRI chiller solutions are designed for the
most demanding scanning environments. If you are also in
need of engineering, or installation services, Legacy has
the skills and resources to help ensure a successful turnkey
project in all major U.S. markets.
A typical MRI resembles a large donut in many ways. There is
a small hole in the center of the MRI where the patient
slips into. The outer ring of the MRI is a large super
conducting magnet. Our bodies consist of millions and
millions of cells, and these cells have different densities
and makeup. As a body enters the MRI's magnetic field, each
cell reacts differently to this magnetic field. Using
advanced software and super computers, the MRI's can now
distinguish these cells from one another on a molecular
level and map your specific organs into digital images. Once
the image is captured the MRI now has the capability to
rotate and slice a section of the image in a variety of
ways.
Key to the efficiency and ability of any MRI is the huge
superconducting magnet within the MRI's outer ring. To reach
maximum performance these magnets must be cooled down to
-200 to -600c. To accomplish this, liquid helium is commonly
used as a refrigerant. In order to maintain the liquid
helium cooling system, a water-cooled gradient compressor
needs to be used, and this is where Legacy Chiller Systems
comes in. Our chiller systems are designed to provide
top-rate efficiency, with you the customer in mind.
Advanced fluid cooling solutions for Mission Critical
Process Applications
Legacy Chiller Systems’ professional engineers have
worked with original equipment manufacturing OEM companies
such as Siemens, General Electric, Toshiba Medical Systems,
Hitachi and many others to design custom chiller systems for
mission critical applications. We have been very successful
in this endeavor and have pre-selected chiller models for a
wide variety of MRI, CT, Laser and other medical
applications.
Legacy Chiller Systems has recently made a major design
update to our PAC, PACT, ES, EST lines to provide reliable
chiller system operation up to 120F ambient or down to -30F
ambient. These new applications are ideal for year round
air-cooled chiller systems for regions with extraordinarily
high and low temperatures.
